Were Goldilocks to swing by our house, she’d certainly take a pass on our beds.
And I’m not talking about her old stand-by lines of “too soft” or “too hard.” She’d more likely say “too old!”
You see, beds get overlooked in our house. They fall into the same bucket as appliances. Or the furnace. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, right? On top of that I’m frugal (cheap according to my youngest son) when it comes to a few things.
And I have to admit, he’s kind of gotten my goat over the last several months with his regular complaints about his bed.
“Dad, can we please get a new bed? It’s too little!”
“Your bed is fine! Your brother and sister never complained about that bed. Be grateful!”
And so his complaints persisted until one wee morning when I went in to wake him up only to discover that this fine little lad had somehow grown into a friendly giant. With size 11 feet dangling over the end of his twin size bed.
“Whoa!” I exclaimed. “When did you get so big!”
And that got his goat.
But we turned out goats into sheep. Namely the Serta sheep.
And they offered to grant my son’s wish with a brand new Serta bed of his own. Big boy size. And they’re even giving the evil father a new one too.
So stick around over the coming weeks as we go on an adventure to learn about beds (including a tour of a Serta manufacturing plant!), select our new beds, and – most of all – sleep happily ever after in our very own Serta mattresses.
And you thought dreams couldn’t come true.
As you can tell, I’ve been compensated by Serta Mattresses in discussing and reviewing their products. Rest assured, however, I’d never endorse or share anything I don’t really believe in. And Serta is definitely a company and a product that gets my solid endorsement.
